Educational Concepts Group, LLC Mission Statement

Purpose:
The purpose of Educational Concepts Group, LLC (ECG) is to provide high quality, scientifically sound, interactive, well-balanced, and unbiased educational activities for physicians, pharmacists, and nurses who treat patients with cancer and blood disorders. ECG’s activities are intended to close identified professional practice gaps between research and clinical practice, resulting in improved healthcare professional knowledge, competence, and performance as well as improved multidisciplinary patient care.

Content:
ECG only designs, executes, and evaluates oncology and hematology activities. ECG evenly focuses on solid tumors and hematologic malignancies.

Target Audience:
ECG’s target audience includes physicians, pharmacists, and nurses who treat patients with cancer and blood disorders.

Activity Types:
To accomplish our goals, ECG utilizes both live and enduring activity formats. Live formats include case-based initiatives, tumor boards, community seminars, symposia, and performance improvement initiatives. Enduring formats include monographs, newsletters, CD-ROMs, thought leader interviews, webcasts, and online education modules. The format selected is designed to assure that the activity’s learning objectives and desired results are met.

Expected Results:
ECG is committed to the assessment and measurement of results from its education activities and has set benchmarks described below.

Each educational activity is evaluated to determine the impact of that activity on physician, pharmacist, and nurse knowledge, competence, and performance. Ninety five percent of activities will achieve greater than or equal to 4.0 on a Likert scale of 1-5 or greater than or equal to 60% on a yes/no scale in the following areas:

  • information assisted in improving patient care
  • program fulfilled education need by addressing a professional practice gap
  • information increased competence, performance, and patient outcomes
  • activity avoided commercial bias
In addition, 95% of enduring material participants will achieve greater than an 80% score on post-tests that measure increased knowledge.
