Anne S. Tsao, MD serves as associate professor in the Department of Thoracic/Head and Neck Medical Oncology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Dr Tsao is the director of the Mesothelioma Program as well as director of the Thoracic Chemo-Radiation Program at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr Tsao attended the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and completed her internal medicine residency at Indiana University and her medical oncology fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr Tsao is board certified in medical oncology and internal medicine.
Dr Tsao currently conducts clinical research in non-small cell lung cancer, mesothelioma, and malignancies of the head and neck region. She also performs translational research in signal transduction pathways involving EGFR, PI3K/AKT, PDGF/PDGFR, and VEGF/VEGFR pathways.
Dr Tsao has received an American Society of Clinical Oncology Merit Award, an MD Anderson Achievement in Research Award, an American Society of Clinical Oncology Young Investigator Award, an American Society of Clinical Oncology Career Development Award, a NIH Clinician Scientist K12 Award, and a Head and Neck SPORE Career Development Award. Dr Tsao serves on the SWOG Mesothelioma Steering Committee and is on the lung executive committees of the American Radium Society, RTOG, and SWOG. She has numerous publications in multiple peer-reviewed journals and books.
