Finn Bo Petersen, MD is the program director for the Intermountain Center for Hematological Malignancies, which includes the Intermountain Blood and Marrow Transplant Program, the Intermountain Acute Leukemia Program, and the Intermountain High-Risk Lymphoma Program in Salt Lake City, Utah. In addition, in 2009 Dr Petersen was appointed to adjunct professor of stem cell transplantation medicine at the University of Aarhus in Denmark. Dr Petersen earned his medical degree from the University of Copenhagen Medical School in Copenhagen, Denmark. He completed a residency in internal medicine at the State University Hospital in Copenhagen and a fellowship in medical oncology at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington.

Dr Petersen joined the University of Utah as a professor of medicine in 1992, overseeing both the adult and pediatric blood and marrow transplant program. In 2006, Dr Petersen became program director for the Intermountain Healthcare Center for Hematologic Malignancies where he is in charge of acute leukemia, high-risk lymphoma, and hematopoietic stem cell transplant.

Dr Petersen is currently a member of numerous professional societies including the American Medical Association, the American Society of Hematology, the American Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. To date, Dr Peterson has published more than 140 peer-reviewed articles on topics related to blood and marrow transplantation and high-risk hematological malignancies.
