P. Leif Bergsagel, MD is a professor of medicine and consultant at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona. Dr Bergsagel received his medical degree from the University of Toronto. He completed his internship and residency at Sunnybrook Medical Center, Toronto followed by a fellowship in medical oncology at the National Cancer Institute, Bethesda, Maryland.

Dr Bergsagel’s research focuses on the molecular pathogenesis of multiple myeloma, and he serves as principal investigator for several active research grants and clinical trials. Dr Bergsagel is a manuscript reviewer for numerous journals including the New England Journal of Medicine, The Journal of Experimental Medicine, the Journal of Immunology, and Blood. Dr Bergsagel has published extensively in top-tier peer-reviewed journals, and has written several book chapters, editorials, abstracts, and letters.
