Craig M. Kessler, MD is chief of the Division of Hematology/Oncology in the department of medicine at the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center and a professor of medicine at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Dr Kessler earned his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr Kessler’s medical training began with a medical internship at the Touro Infirmary and Ochsner Foundation Hospital and Clinic in New Orleans where he later became a medical resident and subsequently chief medical resident. He completed his training with a fellowship in special hematology at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and University in Baltimore, Maryland.

. In addition, he is a member of the Medical and Scientific Advisory Council for the National Hemophilia Foundation and the National Expert in Thrombosis Panel for the Coalition to Prevent Deep Venous Thrombosis. He also serves on the board of directors for the Hemophilia and Thrombosis Research Society of North America and for the World Hemophilia Alliance. Dr Kessler has lectured nationally and internationally and has authored or coauthored numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts, review articles, book chapters, and research abstracts.
