Jonathan Dowell, MD is an associate professor of internal medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas where he also serves as the hematology/oncology fellowship director. He also serves as chief, hematology/oncology at the Dallas VA Medical Center, where his primary interests are in clinical trials in lung cancer, head and neck malignancies, and cancer from an unknown primary site. After completing his medical degree at the University of Chicago’s Pritzker School of Medicine, he went on to finish his internal medicine residency at the University of Texas Southwestern. He then pursued a hematology/oncology fellowship at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr Dowell is board certified in both hematology and oncology and is currently associate professor of internal medicine at UT Southwestern and chief of hematology/oncology at the Dallas VA Medical Center.

Dr Dowell holds memberships with the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology. He has been published in a number of professional publications, including the New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of Clinical Oncology, The American Journal of the Medical Sciences, and Cancer. Dr Dowell has received awards including the 2000 ASCO Merit Award, the Career Development Award at the University of Texas SPORE for lung cancer, and the 2003 Dallas VA Medical Service New Investigator Grant.
