Martin S. Tallman, MD is professor of medicine and associate chief in the Division of Hematology/Oncology at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and co-director of the Hematologic Malignancy Program at the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. Dr Tallman earned his medical degree from the Chicago Medical School in Chicago, Illinois. He completed his internship and residency at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, followed by a fellowship in hematology/oncology at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington.

Dr Tallman is a member of numerous committees of national, regional, and international professional societies including the American Society of Hematology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group, the International Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis, and the American Association for Cancer Research. He serves on the Acute Myeloid Leukemia, Chronic Myeloid Leukemia, and Myelodysplastic Syndrome Committees of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) and is a fellow of the American College of Physicians. In addition, Dr Tallman serves as an associate editor for Blood and as a reviewer for many professional publications, including American Journal of Hematology, Annals of Internal Medicine, Bone Marrow Transplantation, Cancer Research, Journal of Clinical Oncology, and the New England Journal of Medicine. He also serves on the editorial boards of a variety of scientific journals, including Leukemia Research, Cancer, Clinical Cytometry, Evidence-Based Oncology, Blood Reviews, Annals of Hematology, and Haematologica. Dr Tallman has served as the author or coauthor of numerous peer-reviewed journals, textbook chapters, reviews,
monographs, editorials, and abstracts. He has spoken as an invited lecturer and chair at many national and international symposia, conferences, and meetings.
