Robert Haddad, MD is assistant professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School, clinical director of the Head and Neck Oncology Program at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and associate physician at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr Haddad earned his medical degree from St. Joseph’s University French Faculty of Medicine in Beirut, Lebanon. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York, New York, followed by a fellowship in hematology and oncology at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, Maryland.
Dr Haddad’s clinical investigation focuses on the development of innovative clinical trials designed to improve therapy, administration, and care for patients with head and neck cancer concentrating on organ preservation with chemotherapy and radiation, novel agents, and cytoprotection. Dr Haddad is principal or co-investigator for a number of ongoing clinical trials.
Dr Haddad is a member of the Thyroid Carcinoma Guidelines Committee for the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, the Publications Committee for the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the Mucositis Translational and Correlative Research Group for the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group. In addition, he serves on the editorial boards for the
Journal of Clinical Oncology,
the
American Journal of Hematology/Oncology,
and
Oral Oncology
and is an ad hoc reviewer for many prominent journals. Dr Haddad has authored or coauthored more than 80 original articles, reviews, and book chapters on topics related to head and neck cancer. For his clinical and scientific efforts, Dr Haddad has received numerous honors and awards including the American Association of Cancer Research Methods in Clinical Cancer Research Award.
